i know somebody that made a decision to go to film school in his late 20s to learn how to write movies. strangely enough, no matter how bad these movies are, it seems like most people still have to work hard and get lucky before they ever sell a script or get hired to a team of writers. it's like they want you to get good at it, and then when they give you an opportunity, they want you to forget what you learned and just regurgitate whatever the last hit was.
