I have natural curly hair, not really kinky. However, it's tough for my hair to maintain it's sheen, for it to be "lustrous" if you will. When I come out the shower, sh*t's dope, moist and hydrated, however, even after I put on sheen/gel, it kinda gets a little dry. I've been considering a wave cap, not sure if anybody's got some advice. If so, hook a brotha up.

take a teaspoon of butter and dilute it with water so its real liquidy. then damp your hair ALITTLE and rub the diluted butter in real good and sleek it to how you want it.

keeps it slick all day i do it all the time.

Bruh.....In order to keep your hair moist you're gonna need a moisturizer.
Gel and Sheen is not a moisturizer. Find a leave-in conditioner.

any recommendations, i have the same problem.

ermmm...Well I've been using SheaMoisture for the past year and it has helped keep my hair moisturized.

Everybodies hair is different so you might have different results.

After I wash and deep condition my hair I add a generous amount of this while my hair is still damp and then on top of that add a little bit of coconut oil :lawd:

I know this dominican chick who uses grease from animal fat, no lie. I might try it for kicks

Why are you a man putting gel in your hair :mjpls:

Trying to keep the hair silky :manny:

So it seems that there is no point for the wave cap, right?

I'm black, it's going to be kinky, that's my essence. I get a lot of little curls, if I picked it out and let it dry, it's can look like an afro. It's almost like I got two sets of hair, one moist, and one dry. My hair used to be mad wavy naturally when I was younger even without brushing it all the time, and never rocking a wave cap, but I have been rocking the low caesar like the last 8 years. I decided to grow it out a little this time, and now my hair gets kinky after being out of the shower like 5 minutes :manny:
