why is he still being economical with his punches? this is sparring man..work for crying out loud...he's doing that one punch at a time shyt..granados is not going to be taken out like that..no type of body work except sticking the jab to the stomach...maybe its the fact he's still looks a little heavy and its only december but if this was nearer fight time id prolly put money on granados outworking him

Wake us up when you stop under achieving AB.
I see the same fighter. Pushing off to get distance. I'll pass:mjlol:

First, you can't under achieve when you came in the sport unheralded coming out the amateurs (there were no bidding wars for young AB), but became the youngest guy to ever win 4 Championships over 4 different divisions. Nobody expected anything of him. It would be different if he was someone like Odlanier Solis who was highly touted coming into the sport & didn't live up to the hype

Secondly, pushing off to create distance is something that even Andre Ward always employs because it throws an opponent off balance & can disrupt their offense. Listen to him from the 9:57 to 11:12 mark explaining why you do this:

Lastly...it was the 1st day of sparring. Most people don't even show there 1st day of sparring. Regardless, he's gonna destroy Granados bc he's faster, stronger, and has more skills plus better defense. He's just tuning up right now.

He came into the sport YEARS ago expectations change once you show glimpses of superiority, and he's known for the wrong reasons. He's underachieving because he has all of the physical tools and personality to be and do MUCH better and more marketable than he is, and he he's not doing what he's CAPABLE of.

Underachieve - someone (such as a student or athlete) who does not perform as well or work as hard as he or she can. He falls under that.

Right. I wish more people understood this. That's why he's even more economical with his punches. His output should be much higher. Especially at 140.

Damn shame what happened to flip":pachaha:
