Adrien Broner: I'll Stop This Fight To Fight Pacquiao
Posted by: Carlos Arias on 4/29/2014 .

By Carlos Arias
LAS VEGAS --- Adrien Broner return to action for the first time since losing a 12-round slugfest and his WBA welterweight title to Marcos Maidana when he takes on Carlos Molina on the Floyd Mayweather-Maidana undercard on Saturday night at the MGM Grand on Showtime PPV.

Obviously, the upset victory landed Maidana a huge payday against Mayweather and now people are wondering how Broner will react after suffering his first loss.

"I didn't go through nothing," Broner said after arriving at the MGM Grand on Tuesday for fight week. "How many times you lost and got millions for it? No, I'm great. You know, some of the best fighters in the world, in the universe, have taken a loss. This is just my first loss. I just took my first loss on this Earth, so it's big. It's bigger than what it really is."

Broner went back to his roots and trained in Washington D.C. to get prepared for Molina.

"It's a great atmosphere there," Broner said. "It's some things that I was doing before that I stopped doing. But we back on track and this train is rolling. I don't think Denzell (Washington) could stop this one."

After the loss, Broner said he found out who his real friends were.

"When you in a position I was in, you got people who come around every day, who call every day. After the fight, people didn't call as much. People didn't come around as much. And, you know, I was solo for the most part and all I had was my close ones.

"You hear things, but sometimes for a guy in my position it takes you bump your head one time. I'm happy. This is the biggest thing and greatest thing to happen to my career. I'm happy it happened. Now I see the ones who love me, the ones who was doing it for they own good
. But it's OK. We OK."

Broner said he was forced to cut down the entourage quite a bit.

"Whew, I mean, we ain't gonna put no numbers or nothing," Broner said, " but the circle is definitely short."

So what was the biggest thing Broner learned about himself as a fighter?

"If you didn't see anything, you did see Adrien Broner is a fighter, a true fighter" Broner said. "Even on my worst night I'm still hard to handle. Hey, he was the better guy that night. I congratulate him to his victory. I gave him a chance to change his life and his family's fight with this next fight with Mayweather and I'm happy for him. I'm not mad. That's the sport of boxing."

Broner believes he has gained more popularity despite the loss.

"Yes, because not only do people know Adrien B., but the people that don't follow boxing know Adrien now," Broner said. "They don't even know the person I lost to. They just know Adrien Broner took a loss and that's all they know."

Broner said his sole focus is on on Molina.

"He's a tough Mexican," Broner said. "(He's) got a lot of heart. (He's) a punching bag with arms and legs."

Broner would love to get a crack at Manny Pacquiao once he gets past Molina.

"Hey, Pacquiao? Where they at?" Broner said jokingly. "Top Rank, Pacquiao's promoter, where they at? I'll stop this fight to fight Pacquiao."

I think it would be a huge fight, because the Adrien Broner haters + Manny Pacquiao stans + Floyd stans would tune in to see what happens which = more PPV buys.

I could that PPV selling more than Manny vs Bradley easily

ohh it would def be upped in sales... Adrien is a big draw for sure. He's entertaining as hell.

So AB is willing to fight Pacman and he doesn't care who is promoting him? :sas1:

If only big Bro would do the same. :sas2:

With that said Pacman is all types of wrong for AB his flat footedness and inactivity = food.

Yeah...in my brain I would go with Pacquiao, but AB's lack of fear of is refreshing in this day and age:ahh:

Plus, if he actually BEAT Pacquiao?:banderas:

The Ring will never be same again, because I would be on my Paul Heyman shyt in every thread

"My client, ADRIEN BRONER, conquered Pacquiao":ohlawd:
