I'm a bit more old school in my tastes, so I definitely prefer Kofi vs. Bryan, and that's disregarding that the finish lead to the crowning of the first unambiguous black WWE Champion.

Trying to put my bias against Cole aside, those type of matches are cool from a spectacle standpoint (spots and false finishes galore), but the storytelling and psychology just aren't there to the same degree.

Like I said in the other thread, Bryan/Kofi was on another dimension than Cole/Gargano.

Structure was excellent, transitions were perfect, babyface shine was :obama:
Heel control segment was :ohlawd: a true masterclass. Bryan doesn't even has offense that focuses on the ribs and dude was just incredible working that body part.
Kofi's selling and fire was :blessed:
D-Bry's cutoffs were :wow:

The little touches like DB hitting the ribs to win the strike exchanges or lock the LeBell Lock, and Kofi taking time to hit some of his stuff and huffing in puffing because he could barely breathe after getting his mid section worked for minutes is the kind of stuff you don't see in WWE these days. Or you see it after the wrestlers have shrugged off all the previous work because they wanted to hit 10 spots in a row.

The finish was perfect too. The face does overcome the odds and kickouts/gets out of major trouble to prevail. But it wasn't 10 finishers and 3 people. It was 1 finisher and 1 submission. It was also definitive. Kofi got his revenge by stomping Bryan's head in and then decisively won with Trouble in Paradise. The babyface was just better kayfabe wise, and he fukking earned that W.

I think this match will get even better with time. Like Cena vs Bryan at Summerslam 13'. It was legit a WM classic.

Ring Psychology came back, even if only last night. Not taking taking anything away from Gargano vs Cole (which was :wow:), but EVERYTHING last night told a story and had EVERYONE hanging off they seats.

Also, it led to the 100% full black man to win the REAL WWE championship. History was accomplished with that match

Again taking nothing away from Gargano vs Cole (which was flames af), but last night meant WAY more to wrestling history

Also: When a match makes a damn good portion of NWG temporarily turn in their NWG cards...

The match was very underwhelming in person. I enjoyed the post match celebration more than the actual match. After they revealed the new tshirts, kofi son climbed to the top rope by himself and threw it into the crowd. Kofi had to run over and pull him down. Whole arena was lit
