the 1980 was 35 years ago,
90% of the actors who were getting heavy burn are gone now.

this thread is stupid.

hollywood doesn't fill seats by putting a bunch of 50 and 60 year olds in their films

well he did say 80s.... but your right

"1980" was 35 years ago. But 1988 wasn't :francis:

And acting doesn't have an expiration date :francis:

Especially comedy :francis:

And the biggest actors of the 80s were Arnold, Stallone, bruce Willis, deniro, harrison ford, sigourney weaver, walken, pacino, Michael Douglas...all still working...:francis:

You need your medicine :francis:

eddie doesn't get nearly the burn he got in the 80s,
stallone gets paid minimum wage for his roles now which why you have a expendables movie with 20 action stars from the 90s and not go over budget,
bruce willis movies flop harder the eddie murphy.
and these were the superstars, not just supporting cast type actors like rick moranis.
you now have actors from the 90s, 00s, and this decade that need roles. 30 years is a long career

Says who?

you obviously are not an actor.

nobody is gonna put a 60 year old woman in the leading role of a big movie when you can have a hot 20 something.

a 60 year man can make it work but has to somebody like eddie murphy if you expect to sell tickets not some average character actor.

you must be watching a bunch of non theatrically released b movie if you see a bunch of 80s stars in all your movies.

How does all of that invalidate the thread topic? Regardless of the reasons they are MIA, whether it simply be time or any other factor, the question was posed and I think its a legit question to ask in a fukkin movie forum.

it's not because you're not supposed to still be around if your from the 80's.
thats like asking what ever happened Barry Larkin he used to be such a great baseball player.
nikka they got old, thats what happened.
sheeeeit
you can dig into the 2000's for MIA actors right now :deadmanny:
this is a more valid topic. nikkas like freddie prize jr who should still be getting role have vanished before their time.

If we're not sticking to movies. Jan Michel Vincent was clocking nearly $200,000 an episode for Airwolf in '83 - supposedly the highest paid actor on US TV at the time.

By '91 he was doing a film with Traci Lords :francis:

He was in 'Buffalo '66' though :manny:

I understand what you are trying to say, but that sorta comparison doesn't hold up. Actors don't have the same type of shelf life as athletes. He didn't ask which ones are no longer headliners. He asked which ones are not around...... You still have plenty of actors that used to be at the top of the food chain, but now they don't get those type of roles anymore, but they still do act and you do still see them from time to time. But then there are certain actors that had a decent run and don't even register on anyone's radar anymore. It's more than just time. In Rick Moranis' case, he did give up acting to be a bigger part of his kids' life. Thats what this thread is about.
