Discuss actors who either just play themselves, or can only play one dimensional archetypes in EVERY movie that they are in, no matter what the actual role calls for. Whether they're actually good at playing the archetype or not is irrelevant.

I'll get two obvious ones out of the way immediately:

Zooey Deschanel. To the point that I long ago stopped actually describing her roles and just started saying, "Zooey Deschanel is playing Zooey Deschanel in this film" and moving on. (Related point: She and Him is a bland as fukk musical project. Even as far as shytty indie folk groups go. Just thought I should mention this.)

Jason Statham. Is any explanation even needed?
