The president of the New York Civil Rights Coalition on Monday night told Fox News host Bill O’Reilly to stop “painting black men as society’s moral monsters.”
Social activist Michael Meyers made his comments during an appearance on Fox News’ “The O’Reilly Factor.”
“You are painting black men as society’s moral monsters,” Meyers said. “Quit it. Quit it. Quit it.”
During the conversation, O’Reilly said the “black crime problem” needs to be solved by “peer pressure by other black people.”
“Just as the jihad has to be solved by Muslims,” O’Reilly continued.
“That is so nonsensical!” Meyers said.
“Law enforcement has to be effective in every community,” Meyers continued. “No black family is any more effective or less effective than a white family in terms of controlling their children.”
“That’s not true,” O’Reilly said. “You know that’s not true.”
“I know it’s true,” Meyers said. “I know it’s true.”
“You’re telling me that a prep school high school teacher has the same problems that an inner city blacks teacher has?” O’Reilly said. “Come on!”
Meyers said the majority of crimes in America are committed by whites.
“That’s because the population base is so big,” O’Reilly said.
