Businesses owned by black women grew by 322% from 1997-2015. I did the math. That's from around 56,500 to 182,000. My guess is that a lot of the businesses are internet based.
The article says women of all races own 1.3 million businesses and have 300,000 employees. So most of the businesses only employ the owner.
