At the 12 minute mark is where this interaction happens. You can tell by the YouTuber's voice that he didn't grow listening to mobb deep and capone n Nore, but still it doesn't make his perspective any less important. He seems like a nice guy though. Was he overreacting, or should he just roll with the punches (like he kind of did) because he's a traveler.

I actually like this YouTuber because many of the other travel YouTubers are just trying to show me the wildest things or highlights of certain locations. This guy comes across as more innocent. Also, there are other variables here. For example, he posted a video of a trip to China, and one of the top comments was from somebody saying that why did he have a woman in the thumbnail that wasn't covered up with traditional Muslim clothing. For me, I took that comment as a form of mental illness, but to each their own.

Also, he has at least one other video where he is offended at someone calling him "negro", but it is only sometimes being said with malicious intents, and other times said because that's the word in those countries for people that look like him. I can't begin to imagine what's going through the mind of an Ethiopian person who happens to live in Australia, but I think that you also need to understand that when you are in a different country, you kind of have to expect the people are not going to automatically see things your way.

I haven't seen any videos of him visiting any Spanish-speaking countries, but if he were to visit those Spanish-speaking countries, before anyone knows his name, they are going to refer to him as "negro". The adjective that they put in front of that word, or the tone that is used when saying it, will reveal the intent.

It's interesting.
