Aren't all 3 of these shows being praised by critics who saw the pilots and early eps as progressively refreshing sitcoms that capture the experience of each ethnic group they are based on?

At least that's what I'm reading. Blackish and Fresh off the Boat have unfortunate names but Fresh off the Boat was the name of the book based on Eddie Huang's memoir who wrote and produced it . ABC actually wanted to call it Far East Orlando (a play on him and his fam moving from Michigan to Florida) but he insisted on the name.

Fresh Off the Boat is definitely interesting to me. I read the memoir and thought it was great. Eddie's got some crazy experiences and dude's an intelligent guy. I'm looking forward to seeing how the show turns out.

To be fair with that one, I just seeing it getting praised for a latin themed show run by a latin woman, so I guess it gets props for progress rather than plot quality

Ive heard good things about Blackish even tho I havent watched it. Regardless ABC is giving work to a lot of minority actors. They get props for that. Look at CBS or Fox its like 99% cacs in all their shows

Cristela Alonzo is the only high point of that show. Everyone is else is terrible, although I wouldn't be shocked if it got a second season.
