a track i mixed and mastered for a Compton rapper called Raymeo, i think hes kinda dope, so i wanted to share with yall... the beat came pre-mixed in some real bad condition, so i had to split it in frequencies region to mix it, was kinda hard to get it more polished, but i kinda liked the final result, let me know what yall think...

i didnt producer it tho....

I would only adjust a few more things

Vocals level,eq,dynamics sounding good almost too good for that lo-fi ass beat.. I think you need to add some grit

The sample in the beat has some freqs around maybe 500 - 2khz (guessing) that become fatiguing and sort of makes it muddy for me. (It could also be the way it's laid across the stereo field, maybe you could center that freq a lil more)

After that I would say you need a master bus compressor to glue everything together to make it all sound cohesive. Right now it sounds like vocals over a beat not a complete Song.

The Hi ends are very harsh and actually hurt my ears and the instrumental mix isn't that clear according to my monitors. You def have the vocals sitting upfront and mixed very well just the beat isn't mixed that great.

yeah, i know, unfortunately the beat came already mixed as a stereo track, and in pretty bad quality, so i couldn't do much about it, i had to split it by frequency ranges and try to make it sound better, but there wasn't much stuff to do about it, hope you liked it tho!
