Yes, but it has aged tremendously tho. The crime shows today are way too hardbody than all the 'goody too shoes' programs from the 80s. This shyt is an adult cartoon.

Above the fray.
This was a spinoff...Hawk was a character on Spenser for Hire

He was an interesting complex character......not a good guy, not a bad guy...
cool as shyt, quoted langston hughes and chester himes,

When Deep Cover came out, I saw some of Hawk in Fishburne's character

Phife shouted him out on the ATCQ "hot sex on a platter" record

Is "tremendously" the word you intended to use?:jbhmm:
(Just double checking)

Yes. The show has aged so much just like other series of that time i.e. Knight Rider, Miami Vice, The A-Team, 21 Jump Street etc.

I just watch them to reminisce about the good ol' days, sort of equivalent to playing GTA Vice City or something.

I like the AMCH's theme song. :russ:

I mean it was okay...:manny: but Spencer's kinda had flare and it is recognizable, got the rock guitar, got the drums opening and dat damned saxophone...:wow: I mean compared to hawks???

Hawks was plain...:mjlol:

EDIT: Just RE-listed to hawks theme it's not so bad... but :patrice: it's like IDK..

All this. Plus everyone needs to read up on the brotha that played the role of hawk.

He made a lot of calls on the show. He wanted the black character to be realistic but not one big stereotype. He even said if it gets cancelled I don't care cause I will do it my way.

During the 80s a lot of folks wanted a hawk spin off. IMO hawk, Robert McCall aka equalizer (he was cooler than denzel's character because he wore suits, drove a Jag and stayed tooled up) and tubbs and crockett were the coolest MFs on tv in terms of crime shows.

Honorable mention goes to Ray from the TV show Stingray. Man that TV show had a tight ass intro plus that bad ass stingray.

Also the baddest pilot episode intro for a pilot show....:wow: god damn they don't make intros like this no mo. Can't tell me this ain't some fly shyt.

It was on a lower budget than SFH. Remember, it almost didn't make the air. It had to be squeezed in with a lot of new shows back then. Most modern shows have no theme songs smh.

Mom was a big Spencer for Hire fan and I never knew Hawk had a spin-off. Was Cagney and Lacey also in this shared universe? :jbhmm:
