Not sure if this thread belongs here, but figured it would be the best place to post it.
STOP RECORDING EVERYTHING. CHRIST, WHAT IS THERE TO POSSIBLY GAIN from recording EVERYTHING? Are followers that important? Especially when you are in a position to profit or are already a millionaire? Cats like Derek Jeter are a dying breed. Could he have been posting on Twitter/Instagram/Facebook with all the supermodels he was going around in the city with? Sure and it would have gained him a crazy amount of followers, but it would likely not have been worth the risk. It just takes ONE opportunity for something to be misconstrued and then blown up. I say this because most employers now scan social media and in some cases big companies actually have built programs on the back-end that scans you on multiple networks after filling in a few fields and click.
I am going to leave this in here for the young cats who apparently don't understand how this world works. There is A LOT of jealousy out there, even more than you can imagine with the opportunities to land cushy office jobs that people are after. If someone is able to harm your pockets out of pure jealousy or to improve their odds they will do it. I have been there, but clearly on a smaller scale. Trying to sell a fairly popular website online? Attacks on your site will go up dramatically if it is worth thousands of dollars, quite possibly from the people potentially interested in buying the property itself to get the price down. Got a promotion at your drug-free job, but you smoke weed? I have actually received calls at the desk from someone trying to rat someone out because they would have failed a drug test after a promotion. There was one candidate who actually called back once and had dirt on another candidate who was applying for the same position.
None of this should come as a surprise and it sucks to see young kids getting caught with stupid shyt and hurt their stock as a result of social media. The sad thing is that I don't think people realize how bad it really is. I remember not bringing someone on board in a major company because some questionable shyt was found on Facebook years ago. Sad thing is that he was probably the best candidate for the job, but of course posting for attention is something that people continue to do without thinking about the possible consequences
