yeah.I saw it over the weekend, it pretty good. Definitely slanted towards Steph's perspective, but it was cool to see the home video from his youth and how hard he works.
yeah.
honestly i think the media also been unfair to him, so it's good for his side to be out there.
i honestly think the truth is somewhere inbetween as usual.
Gonna watch. Marbury was/is a Coney Island legend.
no doubt. This is where I actually applaud Lebron, when it comes to "controlling the narrative"..I would rather be able to do that than have the media speak for me and use them as a conduit..Steven A literally said that "Steph didn't have anybody in the media to convey/speak his message for him"...
And once his pops died he didn't have anybody to really trust and make decisions...that's why he thrived in China, cleared his mind, miles away, only him, while being more spiritual and internally stronger...
no doubt.
i'm glad this had a happy ending, most the documentaries i watch these days usually focused on some negative or a tragedy. it easily could have gone that way for marbury too. i remember when he was wilding on ustream or whatever the platform was. glad he found himself and is giving back. i hope he continues to be successful after basketball.
I enjoyed it.
Stephon has lived quite a life. To come from Coney Island in the 1980s and early 90s...with the basketball history in his family...to the NBA...eventually to becoming a champion and icon in China.
Dude, that is one hell of a journey. Ok so he didn't win an NBA title. So what? I view him as a winner for what he overcame and achieved.
The ending with the kid at the barbershop was sweet.
Cool doc.
Yeah man. When the homies were talking and said "a black man"..he said naw don't do that "a black man from the Coney Island projects, is a legend in China and has a statue"........the conversation with the kid touched as well...My name is Xavier too and use to get that same haircut..
