it could be used for anonymous reasons and for reducing bias, there is an absurdly high amount of foreign content creators that like to present themselves as americans to appeal to an american audience attracting americans and other foreign viewers. in some cases it's not bad, in others it's nefarious. I could see how it would be ok using it for a tutorial video but when we're talking about controversial topics it can be border on propaganda as it's worse.
