A.I. is a beautiful film and one of Spielbergs most interesting.

I love this film.

I first saw it in a smaller 2 for 1 theatre with the weirdest back to back selections ever. Shrek then a.i.

Osment carries this film. I feel like his performance is just incredible. From the beginning to end the subtle transistions from being a robot to a "real boy."

Being that it started as a kubrick films gives it this strange dynamic. You can feel kubricks fingerprints all over it. The way his style mixes with spielbergs is so understated yet so apparent.

I'm a sucker for sci fi. Judd law was great in this as well.

And I'm not going to lie I cried during this movie.

Teddy was the greatest.

Long as fukk, but you didn't want it to end.
Movie was such a grand adventure.

Had so many fascinating ideas packed inside its universe.

I do wonder what it would have been like if kubrick had done it. And even though spielberg isnt one of my favorite directors I feel like he added a layer of warmth and heart to the film that served it well.

If it ended with him at the bottom of the ocean it would have been amazing. The aliens/robots/whatever just didn't do it for me.

Kubrick would have ended it there :heh:

I enjoyed the way it did though. I think the talk about how they could only bring back someone for one day because their life force was already lived added to the overall tones of religion and spirituality throughout the film. It was also a nice book end because gigolo joe referenced they would be all thats left, plus the opening scenes questions about a.i. and the morals of it.

I love this movie but for some reason it really creeps me out. Spielberg did a great job but i really wish Kubrick could've gotten it done before he died man, i mean, you just can't even come close to his visual style.

I heard in reality he was making a story about a boy on the run from a pedophile network, think about it, what would you need a living breathing boy for? Love yeah but love comes in all sorts of sick manifestations. gigolo joe summed it up when he said "She loves what you do for her, as do my clients love what i do for them."

btw kubrick wanted David to be played by an actuall robot
