He had it earlier in the off-seasonIncredibly stupid by PATFO to wait until this close to the season to have the surgery.
I was trying to find a link to see when he actually had it. If that's true then it's unfortunate he's such a slow healer (dude is perpetually injured). Knowing the old man, he'll start Champagnie at the 2 spot or Branham instead of Castle. Was considering buying tix for the opener against the Mavs, but I'll save my money now.He had it earlier in the off-season
Looks like he had it in June and could've had it sooner but wanted to see if it healed on its ownI was trying to find a link to see when he actually had it. Do you think the Kawhi situation spooked them? Seems like they're allowing the player to run point on their treatment process. Him and Sochan come to mind.Devin has never been confused with being a fast healer. Spurs staff should have pressed for the surgery and knocked it out. Paying all this money for a guy who can't stay on the court.
Sochan was motivated to get healthy for the Olympic qualifiers, so he had the surgery pretty quickly. I don't know what the thought process was here, but dude basically sat on the injury for two months before getting it operated on. Granted, going under the knife is a big deal, so I understand the hesitation, but to basically tank the first month of the season (which is what is likely when you are losing your 2nd best player) is mindblowing. And I say the first month because Nov. 1 is when they'll "assess" the injury. No guarantee he's playing before Thanksgiving or is even playing full minutes at any point in November.Do you think the Kawhi situation spooked them? Iirc Bassey had surgery a week or two after his injury.
The way teams handle injuries now, I don't think we see Vassell before January.Sochan was motivated to get healthy for the Olympic qualifiers, so he had the surgery pretty quickly. I hope it's Castle. Idk if I can stomach watching bad body language Branham playing more minutes than our lottery pick. The way teams handle injuries now, I don't think we see Vassell before January.
It's always "he will be out 4-6 weeks" and then at the 6 week mark, they slowly start ramping them up. And it's usually 3 weeks after that we see them in games.
Even in the NFL, you put a guy on IR, he can return in 4 weeks. And he doesn't start until Week 5. And that's on a snap count.
So I don't think Vassell is playing until after Christmas. And he will likely be on a minutes restriction, too.
The thing is, who takes his spot in the lineup? Does this open up minutes for Stephon Castle? Because I thought the plan was to slowly ease him into things behind Chris Paul. Maybe now Castle starts seeing 30 mins a night.
