I assume this is the only thread here made on the anniversary of pearl harbor. No surprise there are no other posts. I will say this serves as a good reminder of what 9-11 will not mean to future generations.
I'd much rather talk about how pearl harbor serves as a template to how different generations view traumatic events. To us pearl harbor, JFK assassination and Vietnam are nothing more than footnotes in history. Something that you barely listen to in class and don't much care about if you aren't given a day off for it. I always found it odd how old ww2 vets had so much hatred for Japanese. Like they can't let go of the atrocities they experienced by them. I thought 'how can you hate Japanese? They brought us Nintendo and sushi'. Well how will future generations view Muslims? Will 9-11 even matter to them? Especially if they don't get a day off? Everything in this world is subjective.
