A Band Called Death - Rotten Tomatoes
Before Bad Brains, the Sex Pistols or even the Ramones, there was a band called Death. Punk before punk existed, three teenage brothers in the early '70s formed a band in their spare bedroom, began playing a few local gigs and even pressed a single in the hopes of getting signed. But this was the era of Motown and emerging disco. Record companies found Death's music - and band name - too intimidating, and the group were never given a fair shot, disbanding before they even completed one album.

Have not seen the film.

But, I stumbled upon some tracks a year or two ago in a late night youtube session.

This band was way ahead of their time. Just fukking ridiculous.

My favorite part is that they kept a small amount of the motown flavor (they started as an R&B type group, but never released anything before they saw alice cooper/mc5), while pushing the envelope so far for the time.

"Keep on knocking" is my shyt. can't wait to watch the movie. What a great story.

This shyt is in the 70s...

And from black dudes?

Please. That is ridiculously progressive. Even if you're not into the sound, accompanied with the docu it's a great piece of music history

^ This song is essentially the grunge, "high-low-high" sound that a bunch of 90's bands ate off of.

First two minutes : :banderas:

2:15 : :damn:
