I mean, the 90's had a 7 foot African surrounded by role players winning back to back rings.

Horrible comparison.

In the 50s whites didn't play against blacks because of racism.There were blacks able to play in the MLB just as good as the whites but just wasn't allowed to until Jackie and Earl Lloyd and those other nikkas in the NBA.

In the 90's the best competition in basketball all played in the NBA.There wasn't a Dirk back then the closest you'd get to that would be maybe Drazen or Toni Kukoc who both played in the league.Those Euro nikkas didn't play because of some type of discrimination,those nikkas were garbage kid.

Edit:Sabonis too but he didn't play in the NBA till he was flabby because of those Soviet nikkas.
