Tough one breh...if only there were some master list we could see to really paint the picture for each decade..but on the strength of Do the Right Thing, the 80s may get the nod just for that alone

you need to include a list of what you're calling the standouts...most the shyt i can think of from the 80's came out in the late 80's (87-89) which birthed the GOAT 90's, so therefore i'm going with the 90's from menace, to juice, to boyz, above the rim, to boomerang, to love jones, love & basketball, how to be a player, bad boys, mo money, set it off, etc. 90's>>> *

Yeah there needs to be a list because not everyone is going to remember what came out when.

the 80s black movies aren't that many, a better comparison will be the 70s vs the 90s.

eddie murphy and whoopi goldberg ruled the 80s but their movies weren't specifically black.

black people were sprinkled around in multiracial movies in the 80s. we had more black tv movies than theater movies back then especially on lifetime.
