Its not though.... On any level.... It had 2 known rappers in in as opposed to Wildstyle, which had multiple rap crews, b-boy crews, graf artists, DJ's, Deborah Harry... So, when it comes to being a "hip hop movie", it is not better...

Let's not go crazy 8 Mile is a great movie, let's not act like n1ggas wasn't out there spitting Lose Yourself and 8 mile road for months after. But Wildstyle, Krush Groove, Beat Street are not just classic films but an important part of Urban Americana.
