Lara or martin imo
with kambosos...he scored the upset but he still went through hell to do it on top of scoring victories over 2 former world champs in his last 2 fights

martin (with no noticeable victories on the world level) boxed up a former 4 division experienced champion who was pound 4 pound for years like he was a sparring partner..shyt is still :mindblown:

Mielnicki, Bek, Flores, Juarez, Coffie losses - All these dudes are prospects/up and comers, their losses were upsets but it makes these lesser upsets than some other ones imo

Lara vs Warrington - Warrington was coming off of long inactivity and he is/was a light punching swarmer trying to bang it out with a slugger on the inside

Kambosos vs Teo - It was shocking but Kambosos was a legit top 10 guy, tbh don't understand why so many votes for this itt

Martin vs Mikey - From the poll options this was the greatest upset but you could feel Mikey is only in it for the money now and is on the decline

Bermudez vs Canizales - This was shocking cause Canizales was looking real good before, the only reason it's not upset of the year is because Canizales was coming off two years of inactivity

Ugas and Usyk - Honestly don't know what these are doing in the poll, both were minor uspets, not "I can't believe it" kind

The biggest upsets to me were Yabuki beating Shiro and Kiko beating Galahad
Why? Both Galahad and Shiro were in the top 2-3 of their respective divisions and both fought and won a few months prior to their KO losses
Hard to decide which one was the bigger upset, I'm not well versed in the domestic Japanese scene at 108, only know the better guys but I read on twitter from some users who are deep in it that we shouldn't sleep on Yabuki. It adds to the shock that he was beating Shiro leading up to the KO, wasn't just out of the blue.

My pick is still Kiko Martinez over Galahad by a hair. Unlike with Yabuki, here nobody expected this result, nobody said "don't sleep on Martinez". It was looked upon as a mistmatch, it was meant to be a showcase fight. Kiko is old for a 126er, past his best days, and lost his bigger fights in the last couple of years while Galahad was looking better than ever beating Marrero, then dikkens, it legit looked like the guy is the best 126 at the minute. Yes, it was an out-of-the-blue KO, he was beating Kiko on the cards but Kiko took notice of that hole and exploited it. Never would have thought that those 2 punches are in him.

In 2021 going into 2022 kiko martinez should not be a world champion again much less knocking off who he knocked off..that is mindblowing

Boxing gods reared its head

Is it just me or did the Sandor Martin fight go by fast as shyt? I remember it being the 5th round and Mikey still hadn't turned it on yet, and we only had 5 rounds to go :damn:. May not be the biggest upset this year but it damn sure was the most embarrassing. Losing a 10 round fight in Fresno California?! :mindblown:.

I picked 3 of those 5 and i banked big on two of them.

Kambosos the biggest considering his profile, underdog status and what was at stake.

The Usyk fight was simple to me.

Ugas fight too.

Martin fight was interesting. He just stayed active, moved well and took out a rusty, small vet.
