Couldn't find if there was a thread about this already, if there is just merge this one.

Shocked there's no Jericho, and even if he does get a match eventually there's no real threat as a challenger as anyone who could be is already booked for a match.

I think this is the first gaijin vs gaijin IWGP title match :ehh:

Let's see how the ticket sales go up. They sold 3k their first weekend and there hasn't been any updates about it I think :patrice:

True, I'm just surprised they gave him the belt only to not book him for this show, weird timing.

I guess they wanted the belt off Naito to build him for another IWGP shot, and didn't want him to eat another loss while he was challenging? Kind've makes sense when combined with the random shot Omega sent at him in his post match promo.

Still agree with you that it's dumb to put the title on Jericho and then not use him stateside.

.

I mean, yeah, but that's another discussion about how retarded Naito's booking has been since WK.

I accepted that simply getting to the Tokyo Dome, in the main event where the fans WANTED him, was Naito's payoff for a redemption arc.

He pretty much manned up that he fukked up, the opportunities opened up for his crew, and kept Suzuki-gun under the armpit to rebound. Said that even if he hated the IC title, it was better off on him than Su, and took that shyt.

Just when Los looked poised to have a stranglehold on titles again, and it was time to move forward, Jericho actually came through with the Yano special and blindsided him.

He's doing some soul searching, and I'm sure he will be challenging Omega by the end of the year.

Kenny gets his win back :ehh:

Doesn't align with the story they were trying to tell on being the elite though with Cody though.

You can convince yourself all you want breh, but that does not justify what Gedo did. That's a HORRIBLE consolation price for your most over superstar and legit draw at your biggest show in 15 years.

I've said since WK he's most likely going to win the IWGP Title this year anyway, it's what makes the most sense out of a very badly booked situation.

All the stuff you mentioned has been a very lackluster filler arc were he has been trading wins and losses like a WWE uppermidcarder, which is never a good thing to maintain the momentum he impressively was able to keep for 2 years.

He basically got a run of the mill angle with Suzuki-Gun to get a title reign he didn't need. Now he might get an interesting feud with Jericho for a belt he still doesn't need. All so he can be kept busy before having a good G-1 that will probably give him a random title shot where he gets the strap.

That's really retarded when it comes to treating your most over guy after a crushing L that shouldn't have happened anyway.
