SmackDown LIVE preview, June 26, 2018: Jeff Hardy defends U.S. Title against Shinsuke Nakamura
United States Champion Jeff Hardy and Shinsuke Nakamura will look to settle their rapidly-growing rivalry in the squared circle on SmackDown LIVE when they collide for the star-spangled title. Hardy has his sights set on Nakamura after The King of Strong Style served out a savage low blow to earn a disqualification loss during their non-title match two weeks ago before laying out his adversary with a Kinshasa, but Nakamura has vowed to close Hardy’s eyes when they cross paths. Who will leave this battle with the United States Championship? Find out on SmackDown LIVE, tonight at 8/7 C on USA Network!
Jeff Hardy to defend the United States Title against Shinsuke Nakamura on SmackDown LIVE
The United States Championship will be contested tonight on SmackDown LIVE.
After exchanging verbal blows over social media two weeks ago, the first-ever showdown between Jeff Hardy and Shinsuke Nakamura ended with The Artist getting himself disqualified and delivering a fierce post-match assault on his war torn opponent.
In the wake of the contest, both Superstars continued their war of words.
The Bludgeon Brothers to appear on “Miz TV”
Last week, Daniel Bryan was on a roll in the Gauntlet Match and appeared to be on his way to a WWE Championship Match until The Bludgeon Brothers arrived to batter him. Harper & Rowan’s attack allowed The Miz to slide into the fray and immediately drop The Beard with a Skull-Crashing Finale to eliminate him from the battle.
Perhaps as a show of gratitude, The Miz has invited the SmackDown Tag Team Champions to appear on “Miz TV” tonight. The Bludgeon Brothers are men of few words – will they have anything to say to The A-Lister? And Daniel Bryan will surely be looking for payback after last week’s beatdown. Could The Miz’s talk show provide him the outlet to strike?
Becky Lynch goes one-on-one with Peyton Royce
Becky Lynch will be looking to go 2-for-2 against The IIconics tonight when she faces Peyton Royce. Though she came up short in the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match, The Irish Lass Kicker bounced back with a win over Billie Kay last Tuesday, forcing her to tap out to the excruciating Dis-arm-her.
Can Royce avoid the same fate, or will Lynch continue to push her way back into the SmackDown Women’s Title picture?
Xavier Woods of The New Day squares off with Rusev
Rusev is riding high after winning the Gauntlet Match last week to earn himself a WWE Championship Match against AJ Styles at WWE Extreme Rules, but Styles wasn’t the target of The Bulgarian Brute’s tweets over the weekend. Instead, Rusev zeroed in on Xavier Woods of The New Day.
The cast of Netflix’s “GLOW” are coming to SmackDown LIVE, and they have a message for Naomi
The WWE Universe got a surprise on Monday night when members from the cast of Netflix’s “GLOW” revealed they’ll be stopping by SmackDown LIVE tonight.
Britt Baron, who plays Justine on the hit comedy show, which has its second season premiere on Friday, made the announcement in a Twitter post, mentioning that they have their eye on Naomi.
