Couple takeaways. Black households are disproportionately affected because:

a) More likely to be single parent (usually mother) homes
b) More likely to live in the South, which is also affected disproportionately

This whole "don't need no man" movement is clearly not working out economically

Because you didn't read the article. The federal government collects data on households (race, income, zip codes etc) and compiles these reports. It knows which races in which percentages make up which counties. Simple stuff
