Album had a few joints and 2nd Round K.O. is a classic but it was still a major let down and basically tanked his career.

I just listened to this album again a few days back. I am biased because I am a stan but had he had better production this album would be held in much higher regard because lyrically Canibus put on a clinic.

I thought it was a dope album. Before it's release, the Source said it would also have beats by rza and primo. Well, we know the Primo beat was supposed to be "devil's pie" and I can only imagine how ill it would have been if Canibus would have gotten, La the darkman's "polluted wisdom" or Shyheim's "co defendent" from Rza. Plus I felt Salaam Remi should have had more than 1 beat. "get retarded" was his only beat on the album. Dope album though, but Canibus going at LL and Ellitot Wilson giving him a scathing review because of it ruined the album. And as life goes, if everyone is going along, you must follow the trend.

The funny thing is, some of the samples on that album were used in future beats such as Jay Z's "what more can I say" and murder inc used the Willie Hutch "brothers gonna work it out" sample and no one called those songs wack.

I can't say much about when it was released because I was too young and didn't hear it until sometime in the mid-2000s.

Get Retarded, N***anometry, Second Round KO, What's Going On, Buckingham Palace are all good. Everything else (e.g., Rip Rock), nah.

How come “What’s Going On” never gets any love? This is my favorite joint on the album. Love the soulful beat and love Canibus rhyming on topic. And the Prodigy/Biggie sample in the hook
