Most trading is already done by supercomputers. Remember what I said that a big part of which industries get worked first comes down to favoritism.
its looking scary , especially for the younger generation
can we expect AI / robots to replace 20–30% of humans in the workforce in the next few years ?
Is there any profession you see that will be insulated from AI, at least in the short term?I read somewhere a a significant portion of human labor can be replaced by 'C' students, so if AI is or becomes more capable/cheaper than 'C' student a lot of workers will be replaced.

If AGI is acheived in the next few years and is a major labor replacing tool, I don't see this current government implementing UBI any time soon. How fukked are we?
damn. that recursive self improvement is basically what we're seeing these reasoning models, like O1 and O3 correct? I guess there's still doubt in me that these models can get us to AGI. Scoring high on benchmarks doesn't necessarily mean they'll have the capability to complete real world tasks without human input. Perhaps I'll be proven wrong.once recursive self-improvement becomes a major part of it's development, i wonder what does "short term" even mean at that point? basically every job is someone addressing a problem, if you have automated artificial intelligence working to solve said problem 24/7 who knows what solutions could look like.
i don't believe theres any insulation from intelligence, throughout history intelligent people built tools and machines which lead to less labor in many fields/industries so i have little reason to believe machines that could possibly think at incalculable scales won't do the same for every industry and domain known to man.
If things really progress quickly maybe the government mandates a business quota for people to work alongside machines as a policy for social/economic stability and possibly subsidizes it themself especially for smaller businesses.
