likely one of the last things they do if they even try
have you looked to see if you can get additional coverage through the marketplace? does she already have parts a/b/c?
she can possible get medicaid as well if she doesn't have any assets( you would need an attorney with background in elder care to structure it avoid any missteps if she does), it would be important to know if medicaid would even help coverage wise with what you're dealing with before going this route
that's all I can think of off the top of my head but I'm sure someone here works in the field or has most recent experience than me, everyone goes through this unfortunately. wishing you guys all the best
Thanks so much man! She actually has a decent pension and not a terrible retirement. She wouldn't qualify for Medicaid. I think I overly panicked, I just know that without her coverage, her cancer treatments are like 50k per month. She has additional coverage Part B.
I just hear those horror stories about people finding themselves uninsured, and I know Republicans hate policies like Medicare, Social Security, etc, and I kind of freaked out. Also worried about my girlfriend's Type 1 diabetes insulin medication, but I have enough to pay unreasonable prices for that. But I'd also rather not have to deal with that either.
Those are privileged concerns, though, and small potatoes compared to my friends that are immigrants, gay and trans, etc. And women overall. I know that those are the real problems.
