Imagine a world where Joe Manchin could be the next Dem nominee. That's where we are now.
We're not there, when you guys realize dem policies wasn't the issue but bidens administration was we can have a serious conversation. Biden was more interested in funding a genocide and Ukraine instead of how to make rates lower or food prices cheaper

Not exactly . It likes democratic policies but hates democrats.
I agree. America is still generally very centrist policy wise. If you go to Europe you will constantly see countries that are far more on the left or right. And its not even close.

The reason why it feels like America is going to the right is because there is a incumbent backlash and that those who generally didn't voice opinions now do so.

Realistically speaking America is still a majority cac country. These cacs really hate when you tell them they're pieces of shyt for voting for someone like the orange fakkit. They now have persecution complex. But they and their kids will vote, you can bet on that. And their vote counts just the same.

Trump won two elections not because of what he is, but because of what he represents symbolically to people voting for him. A lot of the people voting for him just want to make "libs mad" and strike back at "them". They don't give a shyt about policy and are stupid enough to not care about self-interest in many cases. Trump is an ideological hero to many of voters, and that's the scary part.

When you vote for people because of policies, if they die/serve their term or whatever they go away. When you vote for a symbol, it doesn't die.

Trump himself is not dangerous. He's just a rich senile populist. The symbol of what he represents is though.

And such symbol is often cultivated as backlash against immigrants, bad economy, and down bad in general. Happens in a lot of countries that start going to the left.

It's extremely easy to convert a cac 20-year something into this if he has a shytty or no job, can't get laid and his family is poor; you just tell him he's in the position he's in because of "them" and voila. At least in left countries in Europe you get a big ass social package when you are unemployed so it doesn't feel like the government isn't caring for them.

I just don’t understand it man (I do but still). This dikkhead was in power not that long ago and it was a disaster from top to bottom. What makes anyone believe the guy who mishandled Covid can fix any issue remotely complex?

America just pulled its on Brexit.

There’s a lot of blame to pass around but quietly the erosion of public institutions specifically public schools is a big part of the blame for this.

That's the thing that's confusing for me.

The covid debacle should have been enough to disqualify Trump by itself.

Basically said let's let it run rampant in blue states for political reasons.

On top of the fact that outside of temp tax cuts for middle class people and permanent cuts for the wealthy. That's really all he did economics wise.

It is what is.

At least my stock portfolio is JUMPING

Mass deportation is a dem policy?
Someone of us need to face reality and admit that the Latinos see themselves as the heir to anglo white supremacy in America.
They literally voted for paid family leave and abortion rights when out on the ballot and then voted Trump. They just hate Dems. Politics is emotional. It’s like how you had name Obamacare something else in Kentucky but the alternate name - which is just Obamacare — is wildly popular.

All of this.

The greatest trick Trump has done is paint himself as anti-establishment fighting for the regular guy when he's the epitome of a guy who's success hinged on the policies the establishment passed.
