Need really be about beaucratic reform and being able to find ways to help people without making them suffer for 3 years. Let groceries price gouge for over a year before saying a damn thing and doing nothing was your death sentence.

A lot of the bills in CA that people are surprised shouldn't be that much lol. People here are reaaaaly tired of crime and shoplifting. Pretty sure Newsom even spoke on it in the past.
The rent control law not passing could be tied to people thinking it would make finding homes and building homes less desirable. And realistically on paper you shouldn't have to put extra money you get from the govt going to outside resources.
Nothing is too much surprising, CA has always been pretty socially liberal and fiscally right in tight situations.
Min wage is like 18 here and we have col adjustments.
