I'll take a shot, making them feel like they are villains and not having a voice in spaces. A lot of online spaces talk down on men/young men for reasons of sexism, whether it's apt for a situation or not. You get people attacking users for asking questions or having different opinions on subjects. No one likes to be talked down on so they go where they are liked.

Go to a man friendly space that preaches self help and the sprinkle some right talking points. Soon you are falling in a pit of right wing talking points.
