Yea I feel like folks forgot about this from the last time. The polls don’t mean anything.

Another thing that I’ve been struggling to communicate is that the whole “cancelling out my husband’s vote” shyt and this idea that white/conservative women were voting for Harris was all nonsense. All of the focus and blame should be squarely on the vast majority of white people who actively chose this man three times despite EVERYTHING.

People were bringing this up but a loy of it was side lined as "you don't know what you're talking about" and "you lack evidence". White women showed twice they were going to vote with their husband's but dems thought 3rd times a charm. The country largely doesn't care about abortion when they see the economy is down.


Dems tried to play it both sides instead of firmly choosing a side. Quiet as it's kept, sending money to Ukraine has also been a huge negative in the eyes of the electorate. A whole lot of "we are sending money to x country but can't help our own"

i remember in july, all that "we can't skip kamala and slight black women", without remotely taking into account that black women are only 7% of the general election, AND overrepresented in the south which doesnt matter electorally, AND who didn't even give a shyt about supporting kamala in the 2020 primary, and would have clearly supported newsom. that take ends up being incredibly embarrassing

i did want Newsom as well, but I'm still not sure--with the lack of time if it would've made a difference. Trump could've trounced him with all the anti-california rhetoric

I can't get that thought out of my head. We had a front row seat to his insanity during the pandemic with how he intentionally targeted Black people with a misinformation campaign that contributed to a lot of vaccine hesitancy, which in turn led to people dying. He even called COVID-19 vaccination efforts a form of systemic racism.

AOC and BLM led them off a cliff on immigration and crime/policing. Perceived or real, they are on the opposite side of a huge swatch of America on those two issues.

It was a checkmate move to start shipping immigrants to blue states. It was a checkmate move to manufacture caravans from the southern border. It was a checkmate move to astroturf the suburbs with messaging about Dems wanting to defund the police.

Add in Elon amplifying all of this, a weak candidate and Trump building foundations with young/latino voters and you get this disaster.
