It's going to take more than political action to counter the wave of misinformation on social media. We need a broader approach that involves society as a whole. Teaching digital literacy can help people spot misinformation themselves, and social media companies should be more transparent about where political ads and content come from. While Democrats can push for transparency laws to make it harder for shady or foreign-funded misinformation to spread, it'll also take a collective push to educate people and hold platforms accountable.
