Look at Shinsuke, one of the only male Asians who hasn't had much success only winning 1 match this year, and Tozawa playing role of gift henchmen. And of course the Latinos, if there wasn't a bunch of them to rotate in matches against each other, they would be back in catering or forgotten
You're gauging success in wrestling by wins and losses. Nakamura had probably his second best year here. He got a lot of losses but got copious amounts of time, vignettes, matches, and was a threat to established babyfaces.

That's true but you gotta look more long term picture. He made an appearance in the rumble, then had a match on raw a month and a half later. Before that his last raw appearance was early November in a match the miz won for ic title contender. So he has small spurts where he's there for a while but then missing for a couple of weeks if not months. Mainly being used as filler for ic title contender matches or random matches.

Of course not everyone is gonna be there every week but he looks to have hit his ceiling especially regarding his opponents. He's gonna just be given the same midcard opponents each time in one big rotation. That IC division or other high flyers. They say his promo skills aren't great but that can be fixed. But it's hard just being in the main event scene cuz he doesn't fit the mold that they want in a champion.

Bad enough he doesn't have a big size but being black doesn't help either. Lashley the only one they really have used as a potential main event guy lately and he's mostly been with the street profits. They of course focused on the tag division as are new day, we know what happened with kofi. Tho that reign was more cuz of the fans support. Plus Truth also in tag division. Tho him and Lashley already vets.

It's not like NXT where Trick and Oba are black superstars featured prominently. In main roster who knows how they would even be treated or booked. Melo could have some potential but they'll likely cap it to mostly midcard or lower status.

Look at Shinsuke, one of the only male Asians who hasn't had much success only winning 1 match this year, and Tozawa playing role of gift henchmen. And of course the Latinos, if there wasn't a bunch of them to rotate in matches against each other, they would be back in catering or forgotten.

Unless it's a white or Samoan male, difficult to be given the opportunity in that main event scene.

In AEW or elsewhere he may not have that big success but it gives him a new opportunity against fresh opponents to try things out. He doesn't have to do any crazy risky moves or anything like people assume he'll do and get hurt. But with opponents that are more his style. Can't know what will happen until it does anyways.
Melo ceiling is not mid card breh

wrestling is like battle rap to me..wins & losses don’t really matter fr just don’t get squashed (30’d) constantly

MJF has great confidence and presence on the mic, he never seems like he's guessing for what to say next or losing his place. He's as natural with a mic in his hand as anybody of the last 20 years

His material is repetitive as shyt at this point though, he basically has 2 promo styles

1. sarcasm then WWE or shock reference to make the crowd go "Ohhhhh!!!" then dikk joke then screaming at the end of every line
2. Talking about being Jewish and how that ties in to something in his feud

was hoping at the PPV when he said "no more ha ha bullshyt" that it meant he'd be cutting some real serious ruthless type promos for his return but then he's back making fun of Rush's accent and saying he can't get broads wet and other comedy :martin:

Pretty much. Having bad material,, or not knowing how to reinvent said material does not make someone that's as comfortable with a mic in his hands as he is a "bad promo". And as Cattle said, anyone that can make the crowd chant and do all the goofy shyt he made the AEW fans do during his faceturn just tells you he engages with the crowd at a level very few can. You can't be a "bad promo" with all those characteristics :pachaha:
