red states give back. you're talking about this shyt like it's a science that blue, democrat states are the ones that give back. it's just a vague coincidence :yeshrug:

no one forces new york to overpromise ridiculous public spending; that has nothing to do with your federal tax returns
It's a vague coincidence that high tax states use their state taxes for projects throughout the state, while States that don't collect are only able to survive off my tax dollar ? And the money coming back wasn't about tax returns. The money coming back encompasses federal grants, entitlement programs, etc. Even with that tax deduction, States in the NE were still paying more than their fair share.

:mjlol: are these the same state projects that get hijacked by union thugs and overrun by 50 percent? im from massachusetts, the home of the Big Dig, one of the worst state projects in american history. and it was OUR fault that we let it happen, and theres no reason anyone in massachusetts should have been able to write off state taxes on their federal returns

talking about "but new york runs state projects" like there's anything heroic about new york's state projects :laff:

The Big Dig was the most expensive highway project in the US, and was plagued by cost overruns, delays, leaks, design flaws, charges of poor execution and use of substandard materials, criminal arrests,[2][3] and one death.[4] The project was originally scheduled to be completed in 1998[5] at an estimated cost of $2.8 billion (in 1982 dollars, US$6.0 billion adjusted for inflation as of 2006).[6] However, the project was completed in December 2007 at a cost of over $8.08 billion (in 1982 dollars, $14.6 billion adjusted for inflation, meaning a cost overrun of about 190%)[6] as of 2006.[7] The Boston Globe estimated that the project will ultimately cost $22 billion, including interest, and that it would not be paid off until 2038

That doesn't dispute the original point though, States most hurt by the new tax plan are for the most part States that were already paying more than their fair share in Federal taxes. Even with being able to deduct state and local taxes on federal taxes, these States were still subsidizing the rest of the country. Really you just went off on a tangent that has nothing to do with the original point. You want to talk about a waste of state taxes, sure im not going to dispute that. But I can talk about great things my high taxes offer me like free pre K or school services my son gets for free like PT, OT, and speech therapy, that otherwise we would be paying an arm and a leg for. There's a lot of waste, no disputing that. Instead of attacking states that are pulling their fair share federally, why don't you spit the same vitriol at states that don't pull their own weight federally ?

it's not literally split by political affiliation. your post is a fallacy :dead:

:usure:

We both know this new tax law was meant to attack States that are typically left leaning. The only reason they allowed the 10k cap was to try and appease Republicans in those States. But you want to keep juelezing and not answer my question.

of course it was :ehh: but i can't help but revert back to my initial post. states overtaxing their residents, to pay for benefits that only help the residents of that state, should not be taken into consideration on federal tax returns

you have to bring politics into it and split hairs about my politically neutral statement for some reason :ehh:
