And because the people that already benefit from social security will vote overwhelmingly for the morons who will slash it further, my ass has so scrounge and save twice as hard because I won't have that security if something goes wrong. :stopitslime:

Someone slap that turtle.

I am going to be honest with you. I never expected social security. Since 18, I have made sure to save the max for my IRA. Now the question is will Republicans come after that? I never budgeted for that. But they do have to pay for their tax cuts.

Yeah most of my money is building in safe investments, my IRA, a 401k I've just recently put some into and a nest egg enough to GTFO of the country and have a couple months breathing room if things go real bad. I never expected any benefits for my retirement either, nobody in my age bracket (28-34) does.

Dems have bad messaging. They should be out in force about this GOP plot to Starve the Beast
Dems should just be showing up to these poor/old districts that vote Republican and tell them this is what you voted for. "When you lose your health care and Social Security, look in the mirror and be mad at yourself."

It's pretty amazing the GOP had the House, Senate and White House from 2017-2019 and this is the only thing they could pass. That and the Senate confirming Trump's judges which is the biggest long term impact of this presidential term.

Yeah it’s wild how incompetent they are when actually in power. On the other hand, that’s what happens when you’re just an obstructionist party with no actual policy or legislative goals that would benefit your base.

They spent years chasing the carrot and didn’t have a plan when they caught it.
