The bus routes from the poor areas of the city to the beach (where the Olympics are being held) are being cut, and detoured so the poor people cannot be seen or attend the Olympics despite living very close to where it is held.
Along the roads that pass the poor neighborhoods Rio is constructing large Aparthied walls so that tourists cannnot even see what the poor areas look like.
Same thing that happens in LA. The Staples Center where the Lakers play is one of the most affluent areas in Los Angeles... yet three blocks east is the 3rd largest homeless population in the world.
