The skating ranks and school dances were off the chain back then, I can only imagine how the adult clubs were back then. We missed out. I still remember my parents and old brothers and cousins jamming most of these. And I remember how so many people being so in love with R&B back then. Now I understand why folks were dropping almost $20 for one Album. This is so great music. Let's not even talk about the albums that dropped in 1996: Jay-Z debut, UGK Ridin Dirty, Devin the Dude debut, 2pac All Eyes on Me.....

I spent most of the summer of 1996 visiting my cousins in Florida.
Being outside and going to minor league baseball games and the local pool to hang out with girls, I never heard the Macarena song until I flew back to NY and they played it at Yankee Stadium.

I didn't understand why it was so popular.

same ways ppl be dikkriding todays scene.

u don't gotta partake.

go enjoy your brand new hip hop.

while we look at how dominant hip hop was when white ppl hated it lot more.

lol, you really think you're special when people of the generation right before could spit that exact same nonsense word for word.
