Images of an Irish 17-year-old girl performing oral sex on the young man in the green hat at an Eminem concert went viral on the Web, unleashing the full venom of the Internet on the teen.
Cyber bullies pushed an Irish girl to her breaking point after images of the 17-year-old performing oral sex at an Eminem concert went viral.
The teen was so distraught she had to be sedated at a hospital, the Irish Independent reported.
Images of the girl from Saturday’s concert at Slane Castle, north of Dublin, raced across the Web. They quickly inspired the internet meme Slane Girl, prompting thousands of social media users to ridicule and humiliate her.
One photo shows the teen on her knees as a shirtless young man in a green hat raises his arms in triumph. Another photo shows them kissing as the young man slides his hand up her shirt.
Irish police are now investigating and asked for the teen’s privacy to be respected, the BBC reported.

“The teenager has not been medically fit enough to make a formal statement yet, but when that happens this could turn into a sexual assault investigation,” a law enforcement source told the Irish Independent.
The girl did make a complaint of sexual assault at an event unrelated to the photos, the paper reported.
Twitter, Instagram and Facebook have begun to shut down accounts sharing the the images.
A Facebook spokesman told the Daily News the site began removing the photos as soon as they were reported. Employees are also actively monitoring the the issue and would contact police in serious cases.
"Unfortunately, there will always be a tiny number of malicious people who are intent on harming others, online and offline,” Facebook said in a statement. “It is difficult to prevent this minority from behaving in this way, but once they do we will work hard to remove them from Facebook and make sure they are brought to justice.”

A Twitter spokeswoman said the company follows its policies against content that promotes child sexual exploitation:
“We do not tolerate child sexual exploitation on Twitter. When we are made aware of links to images of or content promoting child sexual exploitation they will be removed from the site without further notice and reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (‘NCMEC’); we permanently suspend accounts promoting or containing updates with links to child sexual exploitation.”
The Internet storm sparked a nearly equal backlash from social media users who saw a double standard as Web critics shamed the teen while hailing the young man as a “hero” and “legend.”
Twitter is now awash with #slanegirlsolidarity posts, and supporters have attacked the humiliation of the teen in a growing number of posts and essays.
Journalist Sarah Dithum wrote, “In the world of popular sexual mores, public oral sex is apparently seen as pretty much neutral for men. It's the woman who gets to be the repository for everything deemed shameful or disgraceful about sex.”
The concert reportedly drew a crowd of about 80,000 to Slane Castle, and police arrested more than 50 people, primarily for being disorderly and drinking underage, the London-based Independent reported.
