The show's executive producer Brian Grazer reveals the plan
We know that eventually we will get more Arrested Development, it’s just a matter of when and how much. But on a just-released installment of Bill Simmons’B.S. Report, one of the show’s executive producers, Brian Grazer, may have answered that second question. “People are loyal to it and we’re going to do another 17 episodes,” he casually mentioned to Simmons while discussing the unlikely success of the cult comedy. “So stay tuned for Arrested Development.”

Netflix declined to comment about Grazer’s comment at this time, so plan your Cinco de Cuatro parties at your own peril.

Arrested Development ran for two and a half seasons from 2003 to 2006 on Fox before it was revived for a fourth season on Netflix in May 2013, and there’s been on-and-off talk in the press about making more episodes ever since. “I honestly think it will happen,” Netflix chief content Ted Sarandos told EW recently. “[Series creator] Mitch Hurwitz is very excited about it. He has a great, great concept for the fifth season that the cast all loves.”

If everyone can have their schedules cleared and they can do a regular season, I have no problem with another season

ehh...season 4 was rough for me, it was funny, but not in the sneaky way the original run was, and them not being together was painful. it's also hard to have these gaps in between seasons when you're using people who are aging faster than milk, most the cast just looked bad or seemed odd reviving those characters years later. maeby and george michael just don't even work as adults

I'm good with this. I dug season 4, it had some really funny stuff going on - Michael going to law school online with that University of Phoenix sweatshirt killed me - and there was no way it was going to live up to the hype of a new season after all the years of people begging to bringing it back.

I just hope there's no one that holds out and we get everyone back.
