A 16-year-student in Iran, Arezoo Khavari, tragically took her life by jumping off a building in response to dress code harassment in school. Arezoo was sent home for non-compliance with the dress code and also faced potential penalties because of a video that was turned into the school showing her dancing without hijab.

If the best thing regime supporters can come up with is that these girls and women are suffering “mental breakdowns,” that isn’t exactly the “gotcha” they think. Responding to constant and consistent overwhelming oppression with deterioration of mental health is a natural, not unnatural response, and reveals less of the person and more of the stimulus.

Nothing speaks more to the harrowing state of existence under this regime than the mental health crises in response to it.

Horrific. The silence among self-proclaimed "feminists" in the west - men included - is *deafening*. And the support given the Mullahs by the West, especially by we Americans, has been criminal...

This is not a mental health issue. This is escaping.

It's an absolute tragedy and travesty.

On November 3, 2024, a 16-year-old girl tragically died after jumping from the sixth floor of a building in Tehran. She succumbed to her injuries at Haft-e-Tir Hospital following harassment from her school principal for wearing jeans instead of the mandated uniform.

In an emotional interview, Arezoo's father shared that she had attended a school trip that day. After enduring intense pressure from the principal, Arezoo left in distress to find her friends.

Her family has filed a complaint against the principal but has received no response. This incident highlights the intense governmental pressures and strict laws imposed on Iranian teenagers and serves as a warning about the crisis facing the younger generation.

Girls and women being called hysterical for not complying with patriarchy is age-old. It also creates a self-fulfilling prophecy.

‼️Report on Human Rights Abuses by the Iranian Regime -Their latest Trick Injecting Political Prisoners with Autoimmune Disease.

The Iranian regime has a long-standing record of egregious human rights abuses, with systematic practices aimed at suppressing dissent, punishing opposition, and intimidating citizens. This report delves into some of the most appalling methods used by the regime to control prisoners, explores the international laws violated, and highlights how these actions constitute serious human rights abuses.

Induced Autoimmune Diseases and Torture Tactics

One deeply disturbing tactic reported by the Women's Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) involves administering drugs to induce autoimmune diseases in prisoners. Victims are often forced to take specific drug regimens that reportedly cause debilitating diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis (MS), lupus, and psoriasis. These conditions can leave victims with severe movement impairments, chronic pain, and psychological trauma, weakening their bodies and their ability to resist state pressure.

Legal and medical experts have documented cases where detainees, under the guise of medical treatment, were administered psychoactive drugs or substances that compromise immune defenses. These forced treatments often cause further physical degradation and psychological torment, compounded by the use of electroshock therapy to induce compliance.

Violations of International Human Rights Laws

The practices described above are not only morally reprehensible but also constitute clear violations of international human rights and humanitarian laws. Here are the primary international laws and conventions Iran is reportedly violating:

The United Nations Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (UNCAT)
Iran’s reported use of induced diseases, forced drug regimens, and electroshock therapy constitute torture under Article 1 of the UNCAT, which defines torture as any act that causes severe physical or mental pain or suffering for the purpose of obtaining information, punishment, or intimidation.
Under Article 2 of the UNCAT, states are obligated to take effective measures to prevent torture within their jurisdictions. Iran’s actions represent a stark failure to uphold these obligations.

The International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR)
Article 7 of the ICCPR explicitly states, "No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment or punishment." The Iranian regime’s actions in inflicting physical and psychological suffering on prisoners violate this core principle.
Article 10 further mandates that all persons deprived of liberty should be treated with humanity and respect for their inherent dignity.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR)
As a member of the United Nations, Iran is bound by the principles of the UDHR. Article 5 clearly prohibits torture or inhuman treatment, which the Iranian regime’s actions flagrantly disregard.
Article 9 prohibits arbitrary arrest and detention, yet many victims subjected to these tortures are political prisoners or individuals detained without due process.

The Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC)
Although Iran is not a signatory, the international community regards the crimes defined in the Rome Statute as binding customary international law. The Statute includes acts of torture, inhumane treatment, and persecution as crimes against humanity when committed as part of a widespread or systematic attack against a civilian population.
The regime’s torture practices could be interpreted as crimes against humanity under the Statute’s definitions, providing grounds for international accountability.

The Basic Principles for the Treatment of Prisoners (adopted by the United Nations General Assembly)
These principles outline the humane treatment and respect that must be extended to all prisoners. Principles 1 and 5 specifically emphasize the protection of prisoners from torture, medical experimentation, and abuse. Iran’s use of induced autoimmune diseases and psychoactive substances directly contravenes these protections.

Conclusion

The Iranian regime’s practices of torturing prisoners through the induction of autoimmune diseases, forced drug regimens, and electroshock therapy reflect grave violations of international human rights standards. The actions not only contravene the explicit provisions of the UNCAT, ICCPR, UDHR, and other international protocols but also constitute crimes against humanity under customary international law. These practices highlight a systematic approach by the Iranian regime to silence opposition and maintain control through coercion and fear, undermining human dignity and flouting international obligations.

International advocacy groups, governments, and the United Nations must take urgent action to hold Iran accountable for its human rights violations. Mechanisms for accountability, increased international monitoring, and the imposition of sanctions are necessary steps to ensure justice for the victims and to prevent further abuses.
