For y'all that never been or known about the bay we used to have a yearly CITY PLANNED event called "Festival At The Lake" where the whole Bay Area would come together (Mostly Black families) and celebrate ...
Sort of like the old Freaknik , or Taste of Chicago .. Like a big ole Reunion

The key thing here is it was city sponsored .. so the cities resources were used (as they should be). It was for the people and we as taxpayers wanted it .
They had police , and vendors and workers and clean up crews .. it was amazing . Of course there were outliers and problems and fights but nothing the "city" couldnt handle.
Later on there were sideshows on the strip and East .. along with people started " cruising the Lake on Sundays and police would harass everyone .. People started getting annoyed and started rumbling back .
They correlated all this into one big agenda and eventually ... officially banned the Festival At The Lake ..
Whit ppl moved into the area and the rent skyrocketed ..
The city's asian mayor may get recalled and fired the chief of the police ( who was black and raised in Oakland) on some b.s. . He sued and now is running for city council .
So now you have this ..
