Canelo ain't no fukking number 1 p4p. You dont become number 1 by fukking cherry picking. Even the Mexican boxing legends like Marquez and Morales are :whoa: when people bring it up.

My number 1 is Terrence Crawford. Ring magazine number 1 is Vasyl Lomanchenko.
I'm a huge Crawford fan and think he has the most impressive skills I've seen in years. With that being said, I don't think you can condemn Canelo for "cherrypicking" then turn around and say Crawford is #1 p4p when he hasn't fought any of the top 5 or 6 fighters in his own division, the one that's probably the deepest in the sport. Don't get me wrong, I know it's politics thing more than any of these guys being afraid to face each other, but the fact still remains Crawfords level of competition has been weak. If you wanna crown Crawford because the skills are so evident I understand that. But I don't think it's fair to slight Canelo and crown Crawford because of cherrypicking when Canelo has the much more impressive resume.

And I just wanna say I think the "ducking" word in boxing is far too overused. Often it's thrown out cause a fan wants to push an agenda about a fighter they don't like or to prop a fighter they a fan of up. nikkas who are real fans acting like they don't know how the politics work with these sheisty ass promoters and throw that shyt around like it's facts. I honestly don't think there are too many fighters that are scared or that hesitant to face each other, but promoters definitely are worried about tarnishing their cash cows or having beef with other other promoters. Those bytch ass nikkas are the ones that stay fukking up the sport. (that part wasn't directed at you @Thatrogueassdiaz , just made me start thinking about it lol)

doesnt matter if canelo doesnt want it

i think his ego might wanna tarnish that undefeated record though
Ward would be still a better opponent to him than Beterbiev or Bivol if we are being real.

Bivol is a bad style matchup to him, he would box him like Kovalev did except he wouldn't gas out and wouldn't let as many punches in as Kovalev did.
Beterbiev is a beast 175er with great physical strength and good skills. Canelo should not want to be in the pocket with him.

Ward would be a bigger fight than both of them, he was inactive and a better style matchup to Canelo than either Beterbiev or Bivol.
Doubt that Ward would come back though.

It's crazy that canelo's whole gameplan was to walk kovalev down and break him down with power shots. He didn't even bother to move much. He came right at him and blocked most of kovalev's punches with a shell defense. Just kept going to kovalev's body until his reflexes started to slow down. Then he came upstairs to finish him off. shyt was masterful. What really impressed me was how canelo completely controlled the ring. He dictated the whole pace of the fight and always looked confident that he was gonna catch up to kovalev eventually.

The way canelo is constantly improving his game is great to see. I think he worked on the shell defense because of his stamina problems. The only times opponents can land clean shots on him are when he gases. His feet and head movement slow down and he starts getting clipped. But with the shell defense he doesn't necessarily have to waste as much energy. And as we seen tonight, his endurance looked great the whole fight. Which never happens. The shell defense also puts him in a better position to counter, as opposed to relying entirely on upper body movement. Some of his counter jabs out of the shell defense were beautiful. Really looked like he been studying the god winky Wright. Held kov to 15% landed and hit him with almost 50% of his power shots. This is why canelo is so tough to beat. He just keeps adding new tools to his arsenal. Canelo with a great shell defense is a scary sight. Wanna see him go back to 160 and take all the belts now. Leave 175 for the big guys. I think he potentially beat all of them, but it ain't worth the risk. Stick with 160 and 168 for now.
