[03/15] SmackDown: Bite The Yams That Fed You

When we talk about Bayley and Dakota Kai, we get ourselves into another story of betrayal. Dakota Kai has chosen her side, and it’s not Bayley’s one. She betrayed the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble winner a few weeks ago, as Bayley has her sights set on the WWE Women’s championship and on her match against IYO SKY at WrestleMania XL. Will she get some momentum when she faces her former friend this Friday on SmackDown, or will Dakota Kai put some doubts in Bayley’s mind ahead of her championship bout on the “Grandest Stage Of Them All”?

Rey Mysterio has been out of action since November 2023 because of a knee injury, as the luchador had to undergo surgery. Two weeks ago on SmackDown, the former World Heavyweight champion made his return, helping the Latino World Order in their fight against the Legado Del Fantasma. Rey Mysterio has been betrayed and brutally assaulted by Santos Escobar in November; now he has to deal with his former friend. This Friday, he will be back to business and will make his presence felt at the FedExForum in Memphis.

While having numerous confrontations with Logan Paul and his brass knuckles since the Elimination Chamber Match, Randy Orton has joined forces with another Superstar that has become an enemy of the United States Champion, Kevin Owens. Together, they have been brutalizing Paul's associates Austin Theory and Grayson Waller with RKOs and Stunners flying in every direction. The Viper will now take on Waller, and there is no telling what will happen on the turbulent Road to WrestleMania.

Dragon Lee and Santos Escobar will meet one-on-one in a matchup between two of the blue brand's best Superstars. Since reforming Legado del Fantasma alongside Angel, Berto and Elektra Lopez, Escobar has been nearly unstoppable, but a returning Rey Mysterio thwarted his beatdown of Carlito and the rest of The LWO. Now, after his own exciting return, Mysterio's friend Lee will step up to the challenge of shutting down Escobar once and for all

Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate will take on Elton Prince and Kit Wilson in a WrestleMania XL Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship Qualifying Match. New Catch Republic and Pretty Deadly are looking to get one step closer to the WWE Tag Team Title Six-Pack Ladder Match at WrestleMania, but they'll have to win this bout to do so. Which team will come out on top?
