I'm not too worried about the director...dude has been working in visual effects and art direction on movies for over 20 years, has two Oscars and comes from a moviemaking family so he should be straight. Also the writers aren't first-timers...one of them wrote the screenplay for The Blind Side and the other co-wrote the script for The Lion King and wrote the script for Beauty & The Beast.

The only way this movie would disappoint me is if they go too far trying to make Maleficent sympathetic.

Man, I'm glad that some time in the 2000s studios started to step their trailer game up. Sometimes those editors work magic. Some of the worst films have great trailers. I always say I hope some of those dudes when awards for turning shytty movies into trailer gold.
