So my friend felt he was being mistreated at work by his manager. All the cac employees were basically allowed to make mistakes like coming in late or calling in sick all the time with no consequence.

When the manager scolded him infront of all the employees for something he didn't do, he reached out to HR. The cacs in HR basically sided with the manager.

I told him to document everything 4 months ago just incase they were looking for excuses to terminate him.

Today he got fired without being written up or placed in an improvement plan (companies policy).

My coli brehs, how would u handle the situation?

Btw this is a HUGE fortune 500 company

Should I advice him to quickly get a lawyer??

First of all your boy has to understand that working with whites at a white owned company; there are going to get away with more shyt than you being black. It's a part of life. Your going to have to work 1 million times harder than the white man and you can not make mistakes. Also he should have kept a track record of all the bullshyt because whites have selective memory when it comes to shyt; plus they are always going to side with their own. You need to have all your ducks in order if your planning on going foward with a lawsuit.

I suggest he should consult with a lawyer about his situation.

@Mowgli knows more about the corporate world than myself.

Get a lawyer
sue
take settlement money.
get a new job.

*if they actually didnt follow company policies and this is true*

But if he was doing shyt like being late, and is a documented fukkup, its going to be difficult, an hes going to have to prove they showed bias. Not being a part of a union, that will be challenging and his lawyer will have to be THOROUGH :banderas: which he probably cant afford.

If you're in an at-will termination state, he pretty much has no case other than if he has absolute proof of discrimination. These employment rights agencies are real black and white(no pun) about shyt. No grey areas or implications, he's gotta have proof and witnesses of any blatant discrimination. Other than that, he's gotta chalk it up, find other income and keep it pushing. As dude mentioned earlier, that's how it is in these white companies. Wild bias.

Run Thru U Like Skattebo
tell him to to the EEOC as well as a lawyer. in the experiences of family members of mine, sometimes that EEOC letter is enough to have companies backpedaling

You think his friend suing Microsoft is a good idea? :comeon:

He'll probably get blacklisted. Pun, not intended.

hes basically sol especially being big like microsoft. I work in a hospital where majority of employees except management are unionized, if soemoen gets fired they have already gone through every back channel, lawyers, hr, meetings with the union before they drop them thangs on you.

its usually smaller companies and privately owned that dont follow procedure and you have recourse
