Kendrick is said to have sold a million plus of GKMC.
This was 4 years ago. He has still yet to lead a big tour in America and I wonder what the problem is.
Selling a million records in the 2010's is a very big deal. It means you're amongst the top in popularity.
Nicki has done huge tours
Drake has
J.cole has
Kanye has (in the 2010's)
Jay has in the 2010's
Wayne has

What's up with kendrick?
I'd expect an artist as big as him to be tearing up the game having the US in a frenzy.
Festivals are a good hustle
But i expect rapper dons to do rapper don level shyt

Guess he's just an acquired taste. I don't really hear him trying to appeal to a large fanbase. The times he has tried he fails miserably. It's cool it humbled him and kept him in his lane. Some people are really good at making those big Justin Bieber like records, Kendricks not one of them. :yeshrug:. Kinda crazy now looking back how he went platinum with GKMC. Guess he caught lightning in a bottle.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
Honestly he's out grown his label. They should've been made this happen. He needs to leave them gangstas and sign to Jay and start getting that live nation money
this is the real answer... imagine him being directly signed to iovine and him not shipping this nikka on a worldwide tour by now

i mean it's not like he can just leave cause he feels like it.. he signed a contract and that's that.. but i'm not seeing top dog as some industry genius or nothing

TDE is trash, management wise. I don't think he'd have a problem doing a big tour but they wasted the opportunity. Who releases an album and doesn't tour it? Even if you argue TPAB isn't a stadium album, he still could have gone on a big tour. Kendrick can do 20k seat places. If you can sell out 10k places in a couple minutes, which he did for the Kunts mini tour, he can sell out 20k places...

From what I understand the plan was for a TDE arena tour. That got nixed due to Q not finishing his album in time and Kendrick releasing a jazz rap album (which I love btw) that isn't accessible to certain demographics. But now Q's album still isn't out, Jay Rock released a dud, Soul's career is probably over, and SZA is just an indie level attraction.

I really don't understand what they're doing. It's madness.
