Why doesn't ESPN just play sports center or sport-specific wrap-up shows all day?

Get rid of these fukking talking head weirdos.

These egos are getting out of hand.

Around the Horn (since 2002)
Best of Mike and Mike (since 2006)
Dan Le Batard is Highly Questionable
First Take (since 2007)
First Take Re-Take
His & Hers (since 2011)
Mike and Mike in the Morning (since 2006)
Outside the Lines (since 1990)
Pardon the Interruption (since 2001)
The Sports Reporters (since 1988)
SportsNation (since 2009)
Winners Bracket (since 2010)

:what:

I can do without ALL of this shyt.

Just show me highlights and maybe a few documentaries...then get the entire fukk outta the way :camby:

ESPN is chasing too many bullshyt people more interested in gossip and NON-sports related issues.

Its just fan-porn most of the time.

And the news? Well good luck if you catch ANY of that shyt on ESPN. :snoop:

Yeah son they can do without all these fukkin shows. Their "reporters" or "analysts" are trash, and they talk about the same things all day. All they need is OTL, Mike&Mike, First Take and maybe Around The Horn. The rest can :camby:

This was how ESPN was when I was younger. From like 6am until 12pm you'd get the same exact SportsCenter for thos six hours, then at 12 you'd get another SportsCenter that showcased previews of whatever events where happening for the day along with interviews and shyt from coaches and team members and the occasional talking head and they'd show that like three times until you'd see an episode of highlights from whatever sport was in session at the time and then a lead up to baseball tonight and whatever game they were showing that night. After that you'd get the late night SportsCenter that would repeat till like two in the morning, the baseball game replay and then SportsCenter starting again at 6am. Only time you'd get these other shows was Sunday morning and they were only Sports Reporters and Outside The Lines...ESPN started changing with the OJ trial...once that happened they knew they could make money off of these other types of shows. There was a time when you actually got highlights on SportsCenter, every single event got like a three to five minute spot instead of what we get today.

Because they want ratings and those talk shows pull more people than a random middle of the day Sports Center would. What you are asking for is ESPN News from 5 years ago. It flopped and that's why ESPN News airs repeats of talk shows instead of Sports Center all day now.
I get it. I know how the system works. But I don't even watch ESPN anymore.

I hate it. I mean all I want to know is the score now. And I can just get a few highlights off social media but damn. What a waste of a channel

They're really not. It's just cut rate comedy hour. It's like daytime talk tv for the generic middle class male. shyts silly.
analysis and discussion is an important part of experiencing sports. I agree that a lot of these shows can be replaced by podcasts but shows like PTI and Around the Horn are staples.

Plus these shows are on when most people aren't even home. SportsCenter is on at 6 when work shifts are ending.

Man, that model was during the nineties breh and it sucked.
It would be the same.sportscenter from 10pm, played for like sixteen straight hours.
It was cool at first.
if you missed sports center cause the cast was so charismatic.
Then somehow Stuart Scott got good at what berman and others were better at.
Then the format changed for the better
Real talk, my tv watching day revolves around his and hers and highly questionable and papi's antics that they put him up to.

PAPI : FIGHT!

IMO, PAPI , BOMANI AND MICHAEL SMITH ARE THE BEST THING TO
HAPPEN TO ESPN, EVER.

That wasn't cutting it anymore and they had no choice but to change the format, SC shouldn't even be called that anymore because sports isn't the center component any longer, it's sports opinions now. Only time you get highlights anymore are the sport specific programming...Baseball Tonight, NFL Primetime and NBA Tonight. It's sad what the network has become, I don't even watch it anymore
